Hello, I am currently aged 25 and working in construction over in New Zealand, I am starting a certificate in basic plumbing (level 2) in the UK in January. After reading your piece in becoming a plumber,I found it very interesting, I like to thank you for Answering a couple of questions that were going around in my head. There is just one more question I would like to ask. (Q) After passing the course what advice would you recommend for me to gain empolyment in the plumbing industry?

Thank you for your time.

I look forward to your reply.

Hello Athony thanks for the feedback - it's always good to know our Blog is helping tradespeople.

We have been working on a number of articles to help people looking to get into various trades including plumbing. I hope the following article will help:

Click here for an article on becoming a plumber.

Also I came across this article today which might be of interest - must go down in history as the worst ever first day on the job as a plumber:

Not a great way to start your career in plumbing - Click here for article!

Should you have any more questions get in touch and I will see if I can help more.

Have a great day! Miranda

dear o dear.if you find plumbing fun you are easily pleased. when i started plumbing & heating 20 years ago there was probably 40 plus in our area doing the same thing, with plenty of work to go around. now there are over 120 plus that i can name, and of that figure at least half are 're-trained' from other backgrounds. now that really takes the fun out of it. tired, rochdale.
